The most common exam for English language requirements is IELTS and TOEFL. Our portal offers wide range of paid packages and some free version of practice tests, tips and extra vocabulary. The International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
IELTS is the most common and popular examinations accepted by the majority of world immigration countries. Available in paper-pen based mode or computer mode, you can choose which mode to attempt in.
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
TOEFL is an English language testing exam quite similar to IELTS. Available in three versions and it tests only academic modules. You can compare them below.
Duolingo English Test
Duolingo English Test (DET) is an online test and has no restrictions over your location, except it has to be a quiet place. Quickest in nature, it is accepted by around 6000 universities of the world.
Pearson Test of English (PTE)
PTE is computer based English language test, mainly famous in Canada, Australia and New Zealand however, IELTS being the widely accepted. You may check your university requirements before booking the test.
Graduate Records Examination (GRE)
The GRE is a standardized test that is an admission requirement for many graduate schools in the United States and Canada. Like TOEFL, this is also conducted by the Educational Testing Services (ETS) based in the United States.
Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)
It is a computer-adaptive test that assesses the candidate’s analytical, writing, qualitative, verbal, and reading skills in standard written English. This test is taken to take admission in a management program such as MBA, Finance, etc. It is a common test required in business schools around the world.
No matter which country you choose for your studies, it is mandatory that you provide satisfaction according to the norms when the language requirement is concerned. On a major basis, there are two ways in which you can provide your fluency level in English. Either one can go for the English language test which is approved by the country’s framework or the individual can opt to produce a ‘medium of instruction’ letter.
Accepting one or both the ways for the English language requirement varies from country to country. Some countries have strict minimum score requirements within the language test whereas some only require a duly signed letter stating your ‘medium of instruction’ about the previous education you completed.

There are various tests for English requirements such as IELTS, TOEFL, and PTE. The student on the basis of the guidelines for the prospective course can choose to give any one of the below-mentioned exams.
IELTS, technically is a unit of PTE group system. It is conducted by British Council, Cambridge English Language Assessment and IDP Education. IELTS is widely accepted across the world and more popular in UK, Europe and Australia*.
Mode of attempt: Pen-Paper test or Computer-based test
Versions: Academic module and General module
In IELTS, the marking is based upon bands ranging from 0-9. The test report is posted within 13 working days. The result of the exam is valid for two years.
*Though different language tests are popular in few countries, they are almost acceptable in all countries. Please note to check the university requirements first before choosing to register for an exam.
It is conducted by the Peason group. Mainly preferred in Canada and New Zealand, it is a computer based examination. There is only one version to it. In PTE, the marking is based upon bands ranging from 10-90. The test report is posted within 5 working days. The result of the exam is valid for two years.
TOEFL is a trademark of the Educational Testing Services (ETS). Popular among the United States, you can choose among the three mode of examinations - Computer-based (CBT), Paper-based (PBT), Internet based (iBT). Unlike IELTS, it only tests the academic module. In TOEFL, the marking is based upon bands ranging from 0-120. The test report is posted approximately in 6-10 working days. The result of the exam is valid for two years.
